1. I am not actually a cat

I know this may come as a shock to y'all but contrary to my name I am a human female not a cat. I have the curiosity of one though.

2. I'm a movie fanatic, like big time

I still collect DVDs, my collection is currently at 320 and growing. Movies are a way for me to zone out, be entertained, get inspired, take a glimpse into others lives, and learn about different cultures and countries. My favorite films include anything from A24. David Lynch, American Psycho, Drive, The Evil Dead Trilogy, and Spring Breakers.

3. I love to travel

I've been traveling since I was a baby human and was always taught that travel is the best way to experience another culture through interacting with the people, food and history. I also lived abroad in Spain and Germany for 5 months and have been to over 12 countries.

4. Was former a band nerd

Can't say they were the best years of my high school life but it did teach me discipline and how to work hard. I also felt like Squidward since I played clarinet, so that was cool I guess.

5. Took a hip-hop class my last semester of undergrad

All my mom had to say after my final performance was "well at least you tried". I may have not been the best hip-hop dancer and didn't follow the all-black dress code but it made me step out of comfort zone.

6. Will watch anything Nicolas Cage related

Nic Cage is one the best actors of our time, hands down. With over 100 films under his belt he is an expert actor. Some of his best performances include: Mandy, The Wicker Man, Bad Lieutenant Port of Call New Orleans, and of course National Treasure. Nic Cage is our national treasure.

7. I'm a true optimist

I believe that everything happens for a reason and that looking at something from a pessimist point of view doesn't get anyone anywhere. To be cliche I like to look at things from a glass half full perspective.

8. My mother is my biggest role model

My mom came to the U.S. from Puerto Rico at 18 years old for school and had to deal with the adversities of not just being a woman but Hispanic. She became head of the biology department at Southwestern University and is one of the smartest women I know. She inspires me to do my best everyday and to work hard for what I want and to not let anything stand in my way.

9. I'm a Texan true and through

I was born in Chicago but moved to Austin, TX when I was three. There will always be a special place in my heart for the the great country of Texas, especially Austin. I love how 1. how big the state is 2. the food 3. the people 4. the outdoor activities and lastly HEB (the best grocery store in the world).

10. I'm a book worm

I'm always looking for a good read and can go through a book in a day if I can't put it down. I love a good fiction thriller/horror, mystery or drama. With reading I can create my own world and always like to read the book before watching the movie.
